Classic Heroes 02

Version 2! Now with a new background that I didn't just toss in at the last second. The shading is a little better too, though they look more 16bit now than 8.

My roster of playables is staying close to the original project with 20 altogether, though it's still all tentative. This pixeled outting, we've doubled the avatars so far with Nova (Power Blade), Simon Belmont (Castlevania), Samus Aran (Metroid), Mario (Super Mario Bros.), Bill "Mad Dog" Rizer (Contra), Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden), Pac-Man (self titled... not sure I like how he's looking so far), and Francesca (Krion Conquest).

Nova I realize is a -little- obscure but most 8bit era gamesters will still vaguely remember him, but Francesca will have folks scratching their head I'm sure. And if you look it up, on the nets you will no doubt be met with commentary after commentary about how it's a unapologetic ripoff of Mega Man. So why would an obscure ripoff would be included in such a roster here? Because female characters in the 8bit era were almost always support or some princess in peril. So between Maria (Ghost Lion), Moby (Wurm), and Francesca here, I chose the one with more potential for the game itself, though I might include Maria yet, as well as White Mage of FF1. 22 characters isn't so bad if it means adding so much needed female touch to the hero list, neh?
